Tientos, die neue Alte Musik
so bezeichnete im Jahre 1995 eine Zeitung das Ensemble. Unser Repertoire umfasst Werke der Renaissance um 1500 bis zum Ende des Barockzeitalters um 1780, so wie Projekte und Cross-overs in diversen Stil Richtungen.
Die Besetzung von Tientos reicht vom Gambenduo über die barocke Triosonate mit Flöte, Geige oder Gambe bis zur Basso Continuo Gruppe mit Theorbe und Cembalo. Ebenso verfügen wir über ein sechsstimmiges Gambenconsort sowie erweiterte Besetzung mit Sängern, Bläsern und Schlaginstrumenten, da das Repertoire dieser Zeit eine enorme Vielfalt aufweist.
Eine rege internationale Konzerttätigkeit verbindet die Mitglieder von Tientos, die sich auf die Interpretation Alter Musik auf historischen Instrumenten spezialisiert haben.
Nach der Ausbildung durch renommierte Lehrer widmet sich Tientos der Forschung und der pädagogischen Arbeit, unter anderem auf zahlreichen internationalen Musikseminaren.
Tientos, the new ancient music – as a newspaper described the ensemble in 1995 – has a repertoire that covers three centuries, beginning with the Renaissance in about 1500 and continuing to the end of the baroque period in about 1780.
The great richness of the music written during these centuries gives rise to enormous performing possibilities, including duos for two bass viols; the baroque trio sonata with recorder, viol, harpsichord and theorbo; a six-part viol consort; as well as expanded ensembles with singers, winds, other stringed instruments and percussion.
A busy concert schedule fosters strong bonds between the members of Tientos, who specialise in the interpretation of early music on instruments of the period. The members of the ensemble have studied with renowned teachers and now are engaged in teaching and research at various schools of music and international music courses in Europe.

Ausgedehnte Konzerttätigkeit in Europa und Südamerika als Interpret der Viola da gamba. Zahlreiche Aufnahmen. Dirigent von größeren Chor-Orchester Projekte auf historischen Instrumenten wie Bachs Weihnachtsoratorium und Händels Messiah u.a. Leiterstellvertreter und lehrtätig an der Musikschule Wienerwald Mitte, sowie bei internationalen Kursen für Alte Musik.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia. Diploma in conducting – chorus and orchestra – and Music Theorie from the Escuela Superior de Música de Tunja in Colombia. Master of Arts (music theory) from the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. Study of viol with Lorenz Duftschmid and José Vázquez. Master Classes with Jordi Savall and others. Extensive concert experience as a viol player in Europe and South America. Numerous recordings. Conductor of large-scale choir and orchestra projects on historical instruments, including Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and Handel’s Messiah.
